Dakota had her surgery on Friday and came home from the "hospital"--the Animal Hospital--today. She is depressed, which I knew would happen, as is Memphis. They still cannot be together just yet as Dakota is under strict orders to have very limited activity for the next 10 days. And putting the two of them together right now, I guarantee will only get them both excited. At her next appointment, the Doctor will make a better judgment as to how long her recovery is going to be. Last time it was 6 weeks, which, I expect this one to be about the same.
It was so sad, as we were leaving the Vet's her carrier broke and she fell on the ground in the parking lot. She yelped and I felt terrible. That's what I get for trying to save a buck.
I'll keep you updated on her progress, for now, she looks good, but her fur is all shaved up past her rump and you can see her bandages. She is confined to her cage and she doesn't like that too much.

Poor Dog! That fall sounds like the icing on the cake! Can a dog look any sadder than that? He or She sure is CUTE. Those EYES. My heart aches for the poor pooch. Our GET WELL quickly and COMPLETELY are sent your way Dakota! (sigh)

You absolutely should!!! You can go for free on your birthday and Leo is young enough that he's free anyway--you can get a birthday pin and he can get a 1st visit one! The explorer canoes are just past the rafts that go to Tom Sawyer's island on the Rivers of America.
