My beef with Facebook

I use facebook for everything now.  I don't update my blog, which I use for record keeping, because why?  I update my status on Facebook instead.  It's quicker and I get more response.  I shouldn't do that, because while it's nice to share with everyone what is going on, I'm missing important dates.

A few weeks ago, I was making the bed and turned around only to find my little Lucas was sitting in the middle of the room.  I posted it on facebook.  I have no idea what day that was anymore.

LL's fish died recently.  I made my husband stop on his way home to buy a decoy because I was too chicken to have to explain death to my 3 year old.  He figured it out and didn't care when I thought it would shatter him.  The things he said were hilarious.  I posted it on facebook.

I need to leave facebook and return here.  This is my journal so to speak and it is greatly suffering all because Facebook is easier, quicker, and there are more people on it.

That's true--I post the little things on facebook a LOT more. It would be nice if you could have a record of all of your statuses/dates at the end of the year for a record--maybe there is a way? I think my kids would enjoy reading my "My kids are KILLING ME!!!!" statuses several years later :)

I'm sure there will be ways to "link" your status updates to blog! LOL

I missed the Lucas pic on fb, but did see the FUNNY fish post! It's all good, but the memories you want to keep should go here! It's crazy how fast time is whizzing by don't you think????? Take care!

I've discovered fb is like the Hotel California. You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.

Good luck returning to the blog. I know I personally love reading your thoughts in long form, so I hope you stick with it.

I had lost the link to your blog and am now catching up. I am glad that you made this decision. I agree with you. It's better here. I also like to go back and read my archived blogs and surprise myself with events I had forgot about.
